Art-X, one-half of the Ondubground duo and co-founder of the ODG label, has unveiled his latest solo project, Cocoon. This album represents a fresh chapter in Art-X's exploration of digital reggae, crafted meticulously in his home studio—hence the project's name.
Cocoon features a mini-album with 7 tracks, each showcasing high-profile collaborations. Nai-Jah kicks off with Just Stop, a thought-provoking track questioning systemic norms, complemented by Art-X's melodica in a masterful digital ballad. Tears of Freedom by Adam Paris calls for global youth unity and peace, while Pulche Le Douce delivers a unique flow on Out of the Blue. The album continues with Eskimo, featuring Tenor Youthman, and Paint The Picture, an energetic track with 4rran. Ti Pa Ti Pa Narrive with Luiza is a delightful surprise, and it wraps up with the instrumental Daylight, which was previously featured on Ondubground's Dusty Gems mixtape.
