On February 6, 2025, Jamaica and the entire world celebrate Bob Marley's 80th birthday under the theme "Uprising". This year’s festivities in honor of the King of Reggae promise an exceptional program, featuring live concerts, acoustic performances, interactive exhibitions, and a family-friendly festival at the Bob Marley Museum.


A Global Event Broadcast Live


The celebrations kicked off with an exclusive broadcast on Tuff Gong Radio (SiriusXM), where fans got a sneak peek at the UPRISING 80 digital tribute concert, featuring some of reggae’s most prominent artists:

February 6th Program at the Bob Marley Museum


An Immersive Opening Ceremony

  • 7:00 AM: Opening with the blowing of the Abeng, accompanied by Nyabinghi drummers and a marching band

  • 8:00 AM: Performances by Jamaican school groups (usually private, but open to the public this year)


A Special Kids’ Village (10:00 AM - 5:00 PM)

  • Interactive Workshops: Virtual reality, robotics, recording studio

  • Creative Arts: Painting, ceramics, jewelry-making

  • Games and Activities: Bubble art, balloon creations, ball pit, face painting, mini-zoo with Hope Zoo

  • Storytelling and Music: Amina Blackwood Meeks and the Rox in Sox Festival with Grammy-nominated Aaron Nigel Smith


Exclusive Live Performances: LIVE AT BOB’S (12:00 PM)


An intimate acoustic session featuring Yohan Marley, Mystic Marley, Ras I, Hezron, Christopher Ellis, Janeel Mills, Lymie Murray, Nattali Rize, Runkus, Amanyea, Hailie Celestial, Black Am I, Shandre Music, Jay Summa, and the Wake up Jamaica choir.


An Immersive Journey into Bob Marley’s Legacy


The Bob Marley Museum presents interactive exhibitions where visitors can experience digital murals and holograms bringing the reggae legend’s world to life.


Additionally, an exclusive exhibition by Mr. Brainwash pays tribute to Bob Marley, following his previous tributes to Stan Lee and Hollywood’s creative legacy.


Every Thursday in February, special reggae film screenings will take place, including Bob Marley: One Love (NAACP Image Award nominee).


Grand Finale: Concert at Emancipation Park


At 7:00 PM on February 6, the celebrations culminate with a tribute concert at Emancipation Park in Kingston, organized by the Jamaican Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment, and Sport.
